I'm British and graduated in English Literature from a British university in 1986. I became an ESL teacher in 1988 and taught in several countries in Europe, eventually becoming a DoS and teacher trainer.
In 1995 I began contributing text and illustrations to ESL publications and in 2004 wrote and co-illustrated Puzzle Time for Starters, Movers and Flyers (Delta Publishing), three volumes of activities and lesson-plans focusing on the Cambridge Young Learners English Tests. Subsequent publications include three volumes in A&C Black's Check Your Vocabulary Series, IELTS Resource Pack for Delta Publishing and Reading Café, a series of reading comprehension courses for Ladder Korea. I have also authored/co-authored, illustrated and designed 18 books for primary, secondary and adult ESL in China. I have been a regular contributor to English Teaching Professional magazine since 1999.
Most recently I have been working as a consultant, editor and writer for English in Action, a joint project between the Open University and the government of Bangladesh to raise standards in English Language Teaching in state schools thoughout Bangladesh.
